Judith McCarthy
Curator
Donegal County Museum
Judith McCarthy has been the Curator of Donegal County Museum since 1994. Promoting and preserving the history and heritage of Donegal is at the heart of all the work that the Museum undertakes and Judith has developed successful partnerships with community groups, museums, and organisations locally, nationally and internationally to enable this work. In recent years the Museum has particularly focussed on exploring the impact of the Decade of Centenaries (1912-1923) on communities in Donegal and sharing stories that had previously been ignored and forgotten.
Judith obtained a BA (Hons) in Ancient History/Archaeology and History from Trinity College and a Postgraduate Diploma in Arts Administration from UCD. Judith is currently a member of the Board of the National Museum of Ireland.
